(fem: caņḍā): another name for Durgā; the regional goddess who is a tutelary deity of Bengal (see: caṇḍī) and Mysore; and attendant of the 12th Jaina Arhat of the present Avasarpiņī (Hc. Kośa); the flowering plant Cocklebur (Xanthium strumarium).
