Sādhanabhakti

From Hindupedia, the Hindu Encyclopedia

By Swami Harshananda

Sādhanabhakti literally means ‘means of lower devotion that lead to the highest devotion, parābhakti’.

Bhakti or devotion towards God has two aspects:

  1. Parābhakti - It is the intense devotion that spontaneously arises after God-realization.
  2. Aparābhakti - It is the means to it. Hence it can be termed sādhanabhakti or gauni-bhakti.

In comparison, parābhakti is also called as sādhyabhakti.
