Seśvara-sāñkhya

From Hindupedia, the Hindu Encyclopedia

By Swami Harshananda

Seśvara-sāñkhya literally means ‘Sāñkhya that accepts īśvara’.

The Yogadarśana of Patañjali[1] accepts all items of the Sāṅkhya philosophy and adds īśvara as the 26th principle. Hence it is called Seśvara-sāṅkhya.
