Sometimes transliterated as: Siddhasrama, SiddhAZrama, Siddhaashrama
Siddhāśrama is the place where Vāmana[1] pushed the emperor Bali to the netherworlds. Even Rāma killed Subāhu and drove away Mārīca from this place. In course of time, it became a place of tapas or austerities for sages like Kaśyapa and Viśvāmitra who established their hermitages here. It has been identified with the modern town Buxar in Uttar Pradesh.
