The word Sanātana Dharma[1] is normally used to refer to the protocols that were denoted to an individual to lead one's life. These regulations were the way of life that originated and existed for many ages in the Bhārata varṣa. Hence one can infer to Sanātana Dharma as a particular word to refer to the religion or the way of life.
