Ksarapani

Kśarpāni was a brilliant sixth pupil of medical education led by Atreya. He had compiled a Samhitā which is lost, in Vāgbhatta's time Kṣarpāni's quotations were inferable. Also several medical authors had liberally quoted him in the following works:

1. Upajhya Madhukosa
2. Vyākhyā kusumavali
3. Tattva candrikā
4. Cikitsā-kalikā-vivrtti
5. Śusruta Samhitā
