Trika literally means ‘science of the three’.

Fundamentals of Trika[edit]

Śaivism which primarily deals with three fundamentals is generally called as Trika also. These three fundamentals are:

  1. Pati - God
  2. Paśu - individual soul
  3. Pāśa - bondage

Aspects of Trika[edit]

It has three aspects:

  1. Śaivāgamas
  2. Spandaśāstra
  3. Pratyabhijñāśāstra or Kashmir Śaivism
