My name is Vinay Santurkar. I am originally from Pune in India though my family has its roots in Mangalore, Karnataka. I hail from a middle class family of engineers. Growing up, I was raised in an environment which exposed me to the essential values in Hinduism from my formative years. Both my parents were deeply religious and would partake in rituals daily. While ensuring that we were connected to the religion and followed it in spirit, my parents never enforced practicing rituals.

For most of my life, I have exposed to a lot of written, spoken and visual information from very influential quarters, who have been running a campaign to make Hindus feel insecure, apologetic and ashamed of their own culture, tradition and religion. The impact has been felt even more over the last decade, with the advent of social media. I will be working with Krishna and helping him on Hindupedia's mission - contributing to articles related to Hinduism, exposing academics who have had a nefarious design of propagating Hinduphobia and spreading misinformation about the religion in Text Books.
